Technic Building Question

Hi, Technic Builders! Recently, while I was building a NXT robot, I realized I kept needing to build studless beams parallel to each other, like you would stack two studded beams, when I found there was no piece for doing so. My only improvisation by linking a 'Technic Axle Joiner Perpendicualr Double Split' with a 'Technic Axle Joiner Perpendicualr Double,' and using pins two hold the beams together. A problem is that I have very few of these pieces. So how do other people do this?

Maybe I/we could have helped you if I/we got a pic of what you are trying to build and then I/we could come with ideas, what do you say?

I have enough of these pieces, and I cant think of any other way right at this moment.

I keep running into the same problem. I've only found 2 solutions:

1) I resort to increasing the width of that particular portion of the model by 1 beam, then I use 1,2 or more of the L-bracket pieces.

2) with the studless beams, if you stack them right next to each other, you can take an old 2x4 or 2x8 studded plate and squeeze them into the holes. Using this trick, you can attach as many beams vertically as you like. But for stability you usually need one on both sides.

3) I redesign the model to not need stacked beams. This is by far my most common solution, and it usually yields something better than what I was going for in the beginning.

And, the plates idea works, but it warps the studs after a long time.
